Born Bwalya Chibesakunda in the mid-1980s, Bombshell is a Zambian female rapper and model from Lusaka. Her greatest influences were her uncles. She grew up around guys who listened to rap music. The environment prompted her to develop an interest in rap music from artists such as Queen Latifah, Slick Rick, Big Daddy Kane, Da Brat, Salt-N-Pepa, Missy Elliot, Eve, Jay-Z, Notorious B.I.G, DMX and Mc Lyte and many others. She attended Ibex Hill International School and did her higher learning at Cape Peninsula University of Technology (C.P.U.T), South Africa.
Joining an industry that is male dominated proved to be a challenge for her. Back then, she used to rap at school talent shows, parties and would sometimes do freestyle with her friends and made demo tapes. It wasn’t long until she got recognized and made an impact in the underground scene.
This prompted her to record her first record titled ‘Bad Muh@f*%e’, a controversial song which featured Bulo Man, Kapuka and 5ive 4our. Some of her singles include ‘Juju Lover’ and ‘The Berg’ featuring Roxa.
Besides music, she is an entrepreneur, actress and a designer.
